Useful checks
- How initial codes were generated and revised.
- Whether code labels are descriptive, interpretive or mixed.
- How candidate themes relate to coded evidence.
- Whether contradictory or weakly fitting data are considered.
- How analytic decisions and reflexive observations are recorded.
NVivo, MAXQDA or other tools can support organisation, but software does not determine which interpretation is credible.
